Divx Synch Problems

I am trying to edit some vidio in Divx format. I am using 2.0c build 125. Most of the time the audio and video are out of synch. The timelines for the two seem to be of slightly different lengths. Is there a way to stretch only the audio to match the video, and will this maneuver even solve the problem? I welcome as many novel suggestions as you all can come up with.

Select the clip and ungroup it by typing U. You may now adjust the audio separately from the video. Ctrl-drag the end of the audio, moving it left to speed it up (shorten it) or right to slow it down (lengthen it). Slide the clip left or right as necessary. You may want to select the audio and video and group (G) them together again after you get them sync'ed.

Thanx. I actually figured that one out myself a short time ago. Am attempting to create a vcd file. For some reason, previous attempts have taken about 2 hours to create 45 min of data, but this time it looks like it will take over 24 hours. I'll be patient and see what happens.
