DLL conflicts between Video Factory 2 and Vegas Video 3 demo

Installed the Vegas Video 3 demo last night. Now trying to start up Video Factory 2 get this error message:

The VIDFACT@.EXE file is linked to missing export SFCDI.DLL:?cdr_FormatLBA@@YGHPADKH@Z.

So again I'm in a box, can't do anything with MPEG in Vegas Video 3 because of the stupid plug in and the installing of Vegas Video 3 trashed my working install of Video Factory 2.

I simply don't understand why Sonic Foundry tortures their customers like this.

Remembering during the install of VV3 it asked if you wanted to replace several files. I elected yes. Such careless design and failure to warn doing so would trash other Sonic Foundry products is simply inexcusable! I don't understand on one hand how Sonic Foundry comes up with truly outstanding applications yet at the same time constantly drops the ball causing untold pain during installation and attempts at registering their products. Not very professional.

could you post the paths of where you installed to?

was it "C:\Program Files\Sonic Foundry\Vegas 3.0\"?

please let us know well like to have this resolved.

From our testing there were no conflicts unless you installed to the same directory as Video Factory 2.0

I installed Vegas Video 3 Demo on my "D" drive in a folder named Sonic Foundry. Video Factory 2 was installed to a sub folder called Video Factory 2. There was also an install of Sound Forge XP 4.5h in a sub folder called Sound Forge.

While I had intended to install VV3 in another sub folder under Sonic Foundry, it would appear I forgot to add Video Factory Demo to the path, so all the VV3 files got installed in the Sonic Foundry folder. In any case it seems the installer managed to wipe out VF2 completely since it was a sub folder of Sonic Foundry, which is not present any longer.
