DNxHD codec issue - build 683

Tom Pauncz wrote on 5/5/2012, 6:48 PM
I just found that I had to remove and re-install the Avid DNxHD LE codec to be able to render with it.

Until then, I got an unknown error on 'Render As'. As well, pressing 'Configure...' within 'Customize Template', had a blank page for the Video tab.

Repair-install did not work.

Would be interested to know if anyone else has seen this with build 683. Was fine with build 595.

Not here. I have an "HD 1080-60i Avid DNxHD 145 8-bit" template and it continued to work fine and I've had this template since Vegas Pro 10.0.

Me too JR. Have been using it since Nick et al's writeup on high quality encoding for Youtube.

I regularly deliver my web commercial projects rendered to DNxHD and then through Handbrake.

Have never seen this issue in all my days with Vegas - since V3.

No problem here.

As a rule I always reinstall 3rd party codecs and FX after I update Vegas or any of my other NLEs. I've been doing this since early versions of Vegas and have found that it eliminated most of my problems. If I remember correctly, I may have even filed a ticket with SCS when this first happened and they responded with the advice to reinstall the codecs & FX after the update.

Interesting.

Since V3, I have never done that and not ever had an issue, until this one.

Guess things are getting too complex to test from ever possible angle and system config.
