DO I NEED TO BE ONLINE TO "UNLOCK" VEGAS 4.0?

I will be paying for and downloading Vegas 4.0 +DVD from a computer which is
hooked to the internet and will be installing the program on a dedicated NLE
copmuter which IS NOT connected to the internet.

Does the "UNLOCK" keycode need to go online to Sonicfoundry to "unlock" the package?

The easiest way is to be online, but if you can't you can call SF's customer service and they can provide the unlock codes.

To register your software, you have an option to "Register from another computer". This will create an .html doc that can be transferred via floppy to any computer with internet access. Once you have taken that file online, you can then bring it back to your offline NLE and finish registration. Another method to finish your registration is to choose "Register over the phone". Copy down the current Computer ID and Serial Number, then go to to our registration page and manually register your software. This will generate an email with an attached .reg file to be sent to the email addy you provide. Once you receive the email, copy the .reg file to a floppy and take that to your offline NLE.
