Odd question: Do your mixes in Vegas sometimes sound different after they're rendered and played in Sound Forge? I may be crazy...but I think I hear subtle differences once in a while.
i've actually heard one of those! I did three rendered versions of a song and all I changed was one tracks volume. For one of the rendered volumes (-6dB) it always rendered the static burst. I did some more editing and it went away. freaky.
alright, bgc, Im trying everything I can to isolate the cause of the static blast. Please see if you can think of what did it..I went so far as to remove all pans, envelopes and all plugins and still was getting some in a few projects
I searched in the area where it was occurring and also did a difference when it went away. I noticed that it was a very short digital noise burst. Also, it was going through some FX because the difference (bad render - good render = static) had reverb on it. I noticed that it was near a small segment of audio where I had an effect envelope go from nothing to 0dB and back to nothing. Unfortunately nothing popped out at me. No clue what up.

Sometimes it's as simple as a track volume difference for me. When I hear the non-destructive playback in Vegas, all sounds fine. But when I render it and listen to the playback in Forge, the levels sound slightly different, and I have to go back into Vegas and re-adjust a certain track volume. Could the non-destructive playback really be different than the rendered playback? That would be a hell of a bug! But considering how long I've been locked up in the studio this week, perhaps I just need a break. :) Maybe it's just me, but I wanted to see if anyone else out there was experiencing something similar to this. Thanks for your input.
