I have issues with Vegas crashing under normal use in Win7 64-bit. I have mailed support for over 1 week, but Sony ignores and havent responded at all.
I even mailed them to tell I want to buy Vegas 10, but no, Sony doesnt does not want to sell, it seems, they are not responding. I try calling them, but no, voice machine tells me they are veeery busy. I am calling long distance (Norway) so I wont wait that long.

What is wrong with Sony!?
Their service really s*ck! :(

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish, posting to a user-to-user forum -- since, by definition, that means pretty much everyone here already owns the program and is likely having some level of success with it. (In fact, most of us are so happy with the program that we come here to help others get up and running with it.)

I'm sorry your computer isn't capable of running this very stable program.

Have you called Sony's Tech Support or only sent them an e-mail?

Have you updated your operating system to SP1 yet? Do you have the latest version of Quicktime, per the program's requirements?

Have you cleared your temp files, defragmented and done some other basic maintenance. (Even brand new computers need some cleaning and defragging.)

Or maybe you're not looking for help. It sounds a bit like you just wanted to vent.

I have used Vegas 9 and think the program is great.
(It is working great on the same PC as the trial pro 10, ref. under)
I now want to upgrade to Vegas 10 pro and is testing the trial.
It crashed a lot on ordinary easy tasks, so I mailed Sony for some help before I went down and bought the upgrade.
But the frustration is that Sony is not responding! I have mailed them through web in over a week now, and absolutely no respons.

I do not know where to turn, if not Sony themself answeres, who can? :7

(Steve; I havnt tried these suggestions, I will try them, thanks for tips :)

zoa, I'm sorry your frustrated, but there is no reason to double post here in the Movie Studio forum for a problem you're having with the Pro version.

Pro forum thread:
http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=4&MessageID=752196

Have you tried searching these forums for answers to your problem?

zoa.

There appears to be a problem handling DV (avi). Failed on three 32bit machines but OK on 64bit.(Free trials are greatI ) replied to 'Farrer Inc' Window7 forum. You appear to have similar problems.

No problems to date with HDV (m2t) files. Renders fine with many track FX's applied. No memory issues.

I think Sony may have forgotten that DV avi's are still in use.

What? You've got to be kidding me!

DV-AVIs are the basic source file of all standard def PC-based video! OF COURSE they work in Vegas Movie Studio!

If you have a specific DV issue, suggest to post a DV file and let others see if it works... It would be very strange if VMS had an issue with DV footage

diverG, you're completely wrong on you DV-AVI comment. Besides, Farrer Inc had Flip video avi files, not DV.
