Have a look around the web, there one mob who give one away per week bit like the Acid 8packs or you can buy the Vision series from Sony.

Also you can use VV to create quite a few, I've done this myself and its pretty amazing just what you can make with a basic toolset and some imagination.

I don't quite know what you are after but the MainConcept website posts a set of background loops each month that can be downloaded for free (both PAL and NTSC).

These are all fairly abstract swirling colour effects.

Go to www.mainactor.com and click on the Downloads link at the bottom of the page.

Check out sundancemediagroup.com: there is a section with a whole load of veg files you can download (titles, effects etc) to learn and/or use (check the conditions under which you can use them....)

If I remembercorrectly, they are under the tutorial section: you have to register but its free...

Experiment with the media generators in Vegas, keyframe, animate, throw on some effects. You'll be amazed what you can do.

Another thing for animated textures.
Search for Axogon 0.93 on the web. It's free and has a steep learning curve, but the tutorials found on the same sites as the download will rescue you in minutes. This tool makes the same kind of animated textures that are downloadable at MainConcepts site, amongst other things.
