They are good, a little overpriced though, also check out

You can ask Lamont_Dennis about the KickBack Tracks, I know he has most of the volumes.

I have eight volumes of JumpBacks, plus Editor's toolkit and Backtrax (over 1,000 royalty free songs) and use them constantly. I use them for titles and as background images, using a smaller frame in frame, for my interviews--especially when the subject is rather boring. I've also used them for complex composites with still images. Incredible stuff.

You can see several examples at www.TheVideomaker.com. Avisys, GE, etc.

I've gotten four other brands, but nothing is as visually complex and classy as the Jumpbacks. Other packages that I've used are like Yugos, Gremlins and Hyundai's - versus Lexas. The others have great 2D color splash, but typically don't have the 3D depth, the "physical objects" that I find with Jumpbacks (clocks, curtains, flags, rotating objects, 3D panels, birds, rings, buildings, 3D light rays, plus all the great 3D sports (rotating soccer, flying footballs, rolling basketballs), etc..

I also love their Editor's toolkit, which has additional jumpbacks, plus entire theme sets with bottom thirds... even the 3D still images are incredible. You get so much content on 10 DVD volumes it takes days (weeks) before you can even preview it all--to your delight.

I have not tried Kick Back Tracks, so I don't know how they compare--the samples look like great 2D color splash, but I didn't see many 3D object samples.

Alone Jumpbacks are expensive ($249 each). However, I've purchased during select specials, along with bundles with other products--resulting in up to 40% off. Digital Juice is also prolific with constant new content--and you feel confident of a similar quality.

I personally prefer the older editions that used to ship in big binders on multiple CDs with color printouts and a video tape. Plus, the objects were already pre-rendered--versus the newer DVD models where you select the items you want, que them up, and then render them (although you can pick your preferred formats and resolution now--it's better, but the satisfaction is delayed).

You obviously haven't tried all the other alternatives. There are many good packages out there besides Digital Juice.

No I don't work for them but... Forums/Tech Support/Phone Support/Staff are awesome - extremely knowledgeable and willing to help. They have "bundle" pricing, magazine ads which offer more special deals, and specials on their website.

I own several Digital Juice products and they are all high quality. As for the JumpBacks, you are only limited by your imagination - meaning you can crop, recolor, resize, mask, etc. They also have video demo's and tutorials on the website if you want more information.

Another positive check mark for Digital Juice from me. I've only got 3 volumes, but would definately like to buy more. Just can't justify the cost right now based on income.
I, too, have used a few other cheeper backgrounds and have found Jumpbacks to be superior. -mjr

I guess I'm the only one that thinks $250 for 40 animations is way too expensive.
snicholshms wrote on 12/4/2003, 7:08 PM
Check out eBay, too. I've picked up several collections for a lot less than retail.

Thanks for the tip. I just picked up the wedding collection on EBay for $175, I saved some cash. These are absolutley stunning graphics and much better than the cheaper versions. I thought adding particle effects from particle illusion was cool, I can't wait to incorporate some of this stuff. Wahoo!
Must be Christmas or something with all these toys!

Oh, no you're not! :)

I've seen them and they are very sharp/nice. Just too expensive....kind of like Boris Red...

I know, I have sold thosands of my animations and people love them, just trying to point out that there are other good alternatives out there. I know there are TONS of crappy ones that people put together but there are other good ones too.

Interesting progression in this thread. I thought I caught the faint odor of "agenda" early on. Turns out it's a someone with a competing product! Whooda thunk it?
Jsnkc wrote on 12/5/2003, 2:47 PM
It's no secret, most of the people here know that I own Kick Back Tracks. Just like everyone knows Ed and Gary do the excalibur and tsunami.

Hey Kickback man, you need to fix your website. your shopping cart system doesn't work. It's bad, bad for business ...
Jsnkc wrote on 12/5/2003, 4:27 PM
I just checked it and it works fine for me. What problems are you having?
JohnS wrote on 12/5/2003, 9:26 PM
I can't seem to place items into the shopping cart and I can't look into the shopping cart. I'm using XP with cable internet and a fast PC. And, I haven't had any other difficuties with other sites. I think that it might be on your end ...
Liam_Vegas wrote on 12/5/2003, 9:41 PM
It works for me.. I am using XP... I think the problem is with your browser. Maybe you have a pop-up blocker or something (the shopping cart opens in another browser window). My pop-up blocker is clever enough not to block this sort of legitimate pop-up... maybe yours doesn't?

Jsnkc,

I agree, I've only tried four other packages--there may be better, or similar animation, at better prices, but I haven't found them yet. I like Jumpbacks because of the supurb 2D and multiple 3D objects--a BIG differentiator (see my revised comments).

I would be more than happy to investigate anything that can compare (the 3D content is very important to me), with similar incredible quality, at a much lower cost (only the IRS knows how much I've deducted for my Digital Juice content).

Any comparitive matrix would be welcome. Anyone done or seen any reviews?

Jsnkc,

I origionally purchased Jumpbacks after seeing their promotional videos at a trade show. Do you have anything similar--I checked for your sample video on your site but it gave me an error.

Best of luck in your efforts.

Jsnk actually listed a Christmas special, but it was obviously edited and removed. He may not be able to say it (as the provider), but I can. Check out his site for a great $25 special offer. www.kickbacktracks.com

Just want to add that I bought the KickBackTraxx's and like them alot. Can't afford the Jumpbacks right now as I'm saving for the music from digital juice. I've used four of the KickBack Traxx's in an office Christmas video located on my home site here: http://www.cr-home-videos.com/. Click sample videos and select the first one.

Folks,

While looking for alternatives I found www.easymotion.com. I thought they looked "ok" until I received their free sample DVD (today). They are VERY good--much like JumpBacks, but a LOT cheaper (64 animations for $99). They also have mainly 3D images, versus flat splashes of color.

Order their FREE DVD. Also, download 3 hi-res (40+meg each) free samples. Very nice stuff.
