Does DVDA deinterlace the menus during render?

The reason I ask is because I created some 30sec movies (interlaced, bottom field) and set them as my background in DVDA.
When playing these menus on my dvd player, just before the menu is about to loop there is a slight pause where the background footage freezes and then the menu loops, which is perfectly fine.

Now when I design the same menu using DVD-Lab, during the slight pause before the loop the background footage freezes but also flickers before it loops again. Not good.
I understand that in DVDA the menus are rendered where as in DVD-Lab the streams are only multiplexed.
So me thnks the reason there is no flickering in Menu designed by DVDA is because it must deinterlace the menus.

Am I correct?
