Does DVDAS auto-erase DVD+/-RW content?

If I insert in a non-empty DVD+/-RW disk for DVD Architect Studio to burn onto, will DVDAS know that it is not empty and then erase the content prior to burning? Or will it spit it out? Is there no function in DVDAS to erase non-empty DVD+/-RW disks?

My current experience is that DVDAS knows the DVD is not empty, still tries to write onto it but will eventually spit it out with some cryptic error message.

After reading your issue (earlier topic) I would recall I had (but didn't know why) problems.

I am using an LG4120 (12X) compared to current 4163 models (16X).
Media used is Mitsubitshi DVD+R (2.5X) DVD+RW (16X) and also Sony's DVD+RW (2.5X).

I am using Nero's SmartBurn and InCD (on the desktop) loaded on memory.

Using DVDAS, I normally use a DVD+RW disc as I am always updating the DVD disk with new video files every odd week or so.
I always choose Prepare + Burn, Bitrate is always set to 8 Mbps.
DVDAS is always prompting me that the disk has some files and would be overwritten. And I always click yes to overwrite.
So to answer you, DVDAS does know and would prompt you for confirmation to reformat the disk.

For my project, it takes from 45 minutes to an hour for everything to be done, so I tend to leave and do other household stuff.
On a few ocassions, on returning, I see the disk ejected out, the screen says disc burned competed in so and so minutes.
But when I view the disk on my DVD player, it is showing the old disk's contents, meaning the files did not get overwritten.

But just choosing the same options again and an hour later, I tend to get the disk written correctly.
I had and still have no idea why it occurs, but I always check the disk after it is burned (LG4120 is bundled with PowerDVD).

That's my experience so far
You can try out Nero's InCD, so far it has done quite a good job for me.

Cheers and have a nice day
