does muting suspend fx

I have a concert mix with 11 audio tracks and 3 busses. Several fx on each. Does muting a track with mute envelope (when not needed in the mix) suspend track fx processing (cpu consumption) on that track?

As i see NOT, until i "uncheck" (manually bypass) the FX. Look at the Task Manager/CPU usage.
