Does ”bump” mean “yes” or “no”?

"Bump" means "I still want to know". Actually, I just did a test myself. Yes the Cineform codec does smartrender.

How do you know that sure?

I rendered some mts footage to the cineform codec, copied the clip, crossfaded the two copies in the middle, then rendered the result to cineform codec, watching the preview window as it rendered. What I saw was fast render and blank preview window up until the crossfade, slow render with crossfade visable, then fast render with final crossfade screen static in window as render finished. This is exactly what happens during a DV smartrender and so I am sure that the Cineform codec is doing the same thing.

Thanks Laurence. Meanwhile I also made some tests and I can state it - CineForm does smart render.
