Does Vegas support ASIO 2.0?

I have three Tascam DA-88s hooked via TDIF cables to a MOTU 2408, a fast Pentium 3 PC with Win98SE, Vegas Viseo, Sound Forge 4.5 and 5.0 and a MOTU Digital Timepiece. I need to know if Vegas supports ASIO 2.0. I have been told this is necessary to sync tape to computer for editing. I am not interested in recording live to the computer just use it as an editing tool.
I want the DTP to be the master clock for the studio. It should give me the opportunity to import tracks into Vegas or Sound Forge, edit them and send them back to tape in the same place it was before to 'fit' in with the rest of the recorded tracks without having to bring in each track individually into Vegas.
Any ideas how to hook this up to allow what I am trying to achieve?
Someone out there must have Tascam gear and are using the same software as I have listed above.
Please help! Thanks.

I guess what I really am asking is how do I get the DTP hooked up? I have read the manual and still can not get things talking. I am using the .wav driver in Win98SE. I realize MOTU has realeased new drivers among them is ASIO. That is where I was coming from...
Anybody know how to get the equipment I listed talking (including Vegas and Sound Forge)?
