Does Vegas6 include ConnectHD?

Now I'm not expecting a definitive answer to this question but my ConnectHD ver1.5.2 don't work very well and to keep my version 1.6 from Cineform is $200. Anyone saving up for the V6 upgrade is not wanting to dish out $200 now for ConnectHD if it will come included.

Who thinks buying ConnctHD now is dumb and who thinks it will stand alone as a purchasable extra and hence there is no use in waiting?

I would hold off especially when you can use the same $200 on Vegas 6 upgrade if it indeed includes some form of HDV capture.

Unfortunately, those that have played with V6 are under NDA.

MH, what kind of problems are you having with connect hd?

The SONY version of ConnectHD downlodable from the SONY site as a trial and for sale at $150.00 is version 1.5.2. It works but is inefficient and requires hefty computing power and runs slow. About two weeks ago CineForm issued an upgraded and vastly more efficient version ( AspectHD) for PremierPro, a just a few days ago released a similar upgrade for Vegas 5d which is ConnectHD version 1.6. The upgraded version 1.6 I have used and is far more efficient and quicker and less error prone than 1.5.2. As of yet is only available directly from CineForm and not from Sony. The CineForm price is $200 as compared to $150 if buying the old version from Sony.

So we need know if Sony will be offering version 1.6 of ConnectHD at $150 on the Sony site, and if not, why not? Would that mean they are keeping 1.6 for release with Vegas6?

1.6 from Cineform's site can be used to upgrade the 1.52 offered on Sony's site.

Thanks, that is good to know. So I can buy the Sony licence and use the ver 1.6.
