I'll start editing M2T video files and also output them as M2T for blu-ray authoring. I'm wondering if Vegas Movie Studio Platinum does "intelligent rendering", i.e. only renders parts where effects, titles, etc. are present and if it simply copies unaffected parts. From short test runs I've done this isn't clear.
I don't personally know the details of that, but it would certainly be worth a call or email to B&H to look into it.
The "Specifications" tab shows "DVD authoring: None", meaning DVD Architect not included. But if you already have Platinum you have all the DVD authoring capabilities that most home users will ever need (i.e. DVD Arch. Studio).
Anyway, unless I'm overlooking something, this seems to be an incredible deal -- especially for people that already have DVD Arch. Studio from their VMS package.
Wow, Tim L, that's a great find on Vegas Pro 8. According to Sony's web site it seems DVD Architect 4.5 is part of Vegas Pro 8, so I wonder if the B&H product shouldn't be the same?
[Edit] Just noticed the "*" on the Sony site - "*DVD Architect 4.5 software is only available with the purchase of the Vegas Pro 8 collection." So maybe the B&H product is not the "collection."
Anyone that orders/receives it could you please confirm?
Eugenia, I read the entire thread on the HV20 forums and only two recent posts talk about the B&H deal above and none mention anything about DVD Architect Studio. I am still keen on knowing about DVDA with the B&H offer (before they run out).
Note that the description of the $469 package specifically discusses DVD Authoring on both the freatures tab and the Specifications tab.
But if you already have Vegas Movie Studio, you already have DVD Architect Studio, which will do virtually everything a home user will ever need to do. (And it will work with Vegas output files just the same as VMS output files.) The Pro DVD Architect adds stuff like options for multiple language tracks, multiple camera angles, etc., but most home users don't have a need for that kind of stuff.
