Hello JayC! I'm an amateur, but I can certainly answer this question! I'm using win2k pro with VV3 and it works great. You know that you need to format your video hard drive to NTFS to avoid the file size limitations right? Any way, instaul away and happy editing! DH

Hi,

The references to Windows 2000 are all basicly talking about the same operating system whether they add on the word professional or not. All Windows 2000 named products are based on the same 32bit base kernel which is what makes Windows 2000 and the recent Windows XP so much more stable than Windows 95/98/Me which have 16 bit code for compatibility with older DOS and pre Windows95 software. The different versions of Windows 2000 in order of expense are Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server. The Professional version is the version that most people use for day to day work or basic use.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the info, I guess I was a bit slow with my first post... I should have added that I was running VV 2, which was what the ? was about,hi... I am up-gradeing to VV 3 so guess I am still alright... The other part that I forgot to ask was about other programs runing in Win2K Pro... Like paint programs, Sims (flight & RR) Kids programs, I'm a Grampa,hihi... SO thanks again to all... 73,
