Dolby encoder software recommendations?

The surround features in V4 fell a little short of my expectations. I was hoping with a combination of having V4, DVD-A and the AC-3 encoder utility, that there would be a way to take the 6 wave files and encode it to a stereo surround wave. I'm looking into some options to handle this task. So far the best I've seen is "Minnetonka's Surcode" or Sonic Solutions has a couple software products that might do this, but is rather confusing which one. Anyone have any recommendations of a software encoder, that will take 5.1 surround and encode it to a stereo wave file, that can then be burned on a CDR and played back on a system that has Dolby Pro Logic to decode it back to surround?

I tried Azid. Does it work on WinXP? Because alls it does when I run it is pop up a DOS window and then close out immediately.

That's because it's a DOS program, duh! =)

Just run it again, but hold SHIFT while double-clicking it and it will stay up. If that doesn't work, start an MS-DOS session and launch the program manually.
