My client called and wanted me to take his Pinnacle edits and author them into a DVD. They were all very short so I said sure, render them all to .avi and bring them over. Turns out, though what he told me was going to be done in Pinnacle was really done in Flash. The .avi files from Flash played just fine in Windows Media Player, but did work at all in Vegas. They would load, but when played none of the tweening worked. All we saw was the first screen of the animation and that was all. The client's Flash artist told me the same thing happened when she tried to play them in Pinnacle.
So - why won't these .avi files, which play perfectly in Windows Media Player, not work in Vegas or Pinnacle? Is there a way to make them work in Vegas? Might this be getting the right codec, or having all the proper buttons pushed?
