dragging with mouse

Hi,

when i dragging (or scrubbing) on the timeline with my mouse to the rightside of the screen towards the end and then out of the screen to drag further, then the speed of it accelerates very quickly without any control of it. The result is i'm way to far into the timeline. Anyway to change this acceleration?

What i do is temporarily move the mouse back towards the screen a tiny bit. This slows it back down to the normal speed, for a little while anyway. It does seem odd though that the scrolling speed is so incredibly faster when the mouse is off the screen.
