DRASTIC DROP IN PERFORMANCE?!?!

I've got a color correction clip on some video - and it's taking FOREVER to render - probably close to a frame or 2 every MINUTE!!! - 3.2 GHz HT P4 - 7200 RPM internal HD to a USB 7200RPM External.

a little p/c on some things and it hasn't even gotten to the 3D parent motion.

AARRGGHHHH - anyone else have this kinda of time on things like this.

4 1/2 minute vid - supposed to take 12 hrs to render - WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON?!?

Thanks for any feedback.

Keep in mind that if you've applied 3D parent motion, Vegas sees that for the entire project. It's a problem, IMO, in the way that the compositing works. Were it me, I'd stop the render, render the 3D area to a new track, delete or mute the source tracks area, and start the render again.

What version of Vegas are you using? If Vegas 5, there was a bug that caused the entire project to be composited, even if you only had a few frames of actually compositing. This was fixed in Vegas 6. So, if you have Vegas 5, then use Spot's excellent suggestion or, if you have the time, money and inclination, upgrade to Vegas 6.

Spot spotted it, I guessed that, and am actually doing that now - I even tried importing a separate .veg with that 3D track motion - but I guess 3D motion isn't nestable. Grrrr :)

**(EDIT) - actually I think that statement is not correct - I think I forgot to save the .veg with the corrected keyframes once I moved the clips.**

Thanks for the feedback.

BTW - 6.0c

now it's rendering away like a good little laptop
