drawing on the screen

Some of you may recall having watched a sporting telecast, (Cricket springs to mind), whereby the Commentator "draws" on the screen, usually to highlight "plays" and the like.

Does anyone know of any software/plugins that will allow me to animate/draw in realtime, either a 32bit AVI that can be imported into Vegas and composited over other clips or better still, a 3rd party plug that works directly in Vegas?

Heroglyph is absolutely trick for this. Easy to draw whether to emulate a live sports event, or to create a map drawing. There are also several apps that will allow say...a Wacom tablet to draw, and export a 32bit avi, but it's got to be rendered first.
I'm sure there are others, too.
