Just tried this Grazie - dropping didn't seem to work, but right click / Media FX does the trick.

You can't just drop it.
But if you flip it towards the timeline with the right mouse button and then before it reaches the timeline, grab it with the left mouse button and bounce it off the middle of the right side of the monitor at a 90 degree angle if it lands on the clip it works.

Just tried it. It works like a charm!

Thanks for the tip, Nickle. You're the BEST!

Peter - Nope! Not for me - Left or Right mouse drag. Onto T/L yes for either Left or Right. Video FXs onto a Media Pool Event stubbornly nope! What AM I DOING wrong?

Nickle! 'Arf 'Arf ' Arf! .. . excellent!

G, Peter said it didn't work. I have the same experience. I'm pretty sure you can't just drop FX onto items in the pool. You have to right-click on the media and choose to apply MediaFX.

I contend that you ought to be able to add mediaFX to clips in the trimmer as well. But of course you can't.

You're fine. You're being thwarted just by design.

Not sure what's different here Grazie - when you right click item in Media Pool - do you have drop down which includes Media FX?

Nickle - how do you get rid of the dent in the Monitor frame?

That works great. How did you ever figure it out. Any tips on how to do this with dual monitors?

Doah! My BRAIN HErtz!

I was trying, attempting to literally "drag" fx TO the Media Pool Event! Now that would be nice .. if it worked, if it was a feature, if it was MEANT to work like that, if there wasn't a feature that right clicked the drop down menu and it would be THERE staring me in the FACE! Like wot you say Peter! . .. .. .

Grazie! aaaarrgghhhhhhhh . .. . . !

Ah! Now THIS gets VERY interesting . . .

When I add an FX to an Event which is ON the T/L I get a Green lit FX Plugin Icon indicator ON the lower right of the Event. If I add an FX to a Media Pool Event PRIOR to plopping on T/L this same Icon indicator is not lit.

So . . .

1/- Add FX to Event while on T/L = YES, Green FX plugin Icon indicator

2/- Add FX to Media Pool Event = NO, Green FX plugin Icon indicator

So, this means I have to be very aware that THAT which I may not THINK has an FX added to it [ no FX Icon indicator ], may very well HAVE an FX added to it - it aws just ADDED when the Event was still in the Media Pool.

This could confuse me . . . . Product suggestion?

Grazie you must have weird dreams to wake up with all these questions.

But I have fx icons on the lower right whether I apply fx or not, so you are probably talking about something else.

However, if I apply the fx in the media pool, there is a tiny green line along the bottom.

But no fx in the chain if I click on the fx icon.

If I apply the fx on the timeline, the fx IS in the chain. But no green line along the bottom.

Yes, it's something to watch out for, but that button which turns green is for Event FX, so maybe another way of flagging for Media Pool FX ...

I guess the only time you apply an effect this way is when you definitely want any part of that original media clip to have the effect, so you would probably remember such a huge decision!

... and, detailed view in Media pool will show an FX number count in the Media FX column.

Edit - Nickle - where is that green line? - I don't seem to have one.

Oh yes,"I guess the only time you apply an effect this way is when you definitely want any part of that original media clip to have the effect, .. "

This is me NOT CC-ing a Media Pool Event prior to me chopping it about on the T/L ! Now I have to copy paste attributes - yes I know it could also carry over othre stuff - hence my wish to add a CC in a Global way - yeah? But point taken on the "effect" of doing this.

And yes .. maybe a blue icon. This would differentiate a Media Pool Event change and the T/L change. Neato!

I zoomed way in to see it. Oh oh, I just looked and it was gone until I clicked on the clip.

Then I clicked the other clip and it got one.

Never mind.

But I have a question,

At the far left of each clip there is a white triangle which turns the cursor into a double arrow and you can slide it and it says "snap offset".

What is it for?
