Drop out occuring after avi import into DVDA2

I'm experiencing frame drop out of my avi files after I import them into DVDA2. I didn't experience this in version 1. I'm using Vegas 5. When I render the avi file it's fine... no problem. When I add it to DVDA I get sporadic dropout. It looks like bad flicker. I noticed it when I burned the DVD. But then I went back in and previewed in the .dar file, and its there before the burn. If I magfiy the timeline, I can see 5-8 frames of black screen.(Flicker) Right now I had to resort to using Nero to burn the DVD, as a deadline had to be met. Certainly not my first choice. DVDA 2.0a seems a bit buggy...ie. Previewing to external monitor, etc. Is anyone experiencing this "dropout problem?
Thanks.

Hi there...I've also been experiencing this drop out problem. Both with DVDA2 and with the 2a upgrade. Its getting quite annoying cause I have to sit there through 4 hours of video to make sure the drop out doesn't happen before I send my project to prepare and burn. It takes hours just to render and prepare so it becomes a waste of time when I have to go back and redo it all. Does anyone know a solution to this? Any help would be appreciated greatly! You'll be my personal hero's! :)

Shan,
I don't suppose you will get an answer posting the way you have been. More likely than not, forum users will choose to ignore your posts or elect to turn your posts off completely.

Try turning off your caps and giving more information rather than being cocky and making generalized statements about a forum that you just joined a day ago. Also, if you are using DVDA2 why don't you use Vegas instead to encode your files. Maybe that would help you instead of using adobe or if you continue to use adobe why don't you use an adobe burning program?
Just some helpful tips for you... maybe you will put them into practice.

Hi

Sorry about the caps! And my frustration!!!

Now for my 15 min. movie promo.

I first used adobe premiere 6.5 not by choice then my dialogue wasn’t in stereo so a friend turned me on to adobe premiere pro 1.5 I got dialogue in stereo fix that problem.

I used avi. Files and a few quick time files (quick time files not by choice)

I used wave files for music bit rate at 1141 kbps
Some mp3 bit rate at 160, 128, 96
On my project settings in adobe pro 1.5 it says

30fps drop frame time code
Capture format dv/ieee 1394 capture
Audio hardware creative asio

I don’t know what else I can give u to help me.

Do you have access to Vegas? You should if you have DVDA2. What I would recommend is taking a sample portion of your avi footage that you know burns with DVDA2 with weird colors and render using the DVDA2 template in Vegas, import that into DVDA2 and burn it to a DVD-rw and see what results you get. If it turns out fine, then you know that it was an issue with importing the file from adobe into DVDA2 with the settings you were using. Try that and post your results.

ok my avi file footage has been rendered and is exported into a movie file is this ok first?
If so Im gonna take this and render again in vegas then import to dvda2 and burn it n see what happens?
Or do I take the avi file and import it to vegas then render then import to dvda2 and burn it? my avi file tha I worked on adobe will it even open up on vegas timeline?
thanks

Vegas should be able to open any avi file. If you have an uncompressed avi file, I would use that. But yes, try that. Post your results.
