I'm using the Credit Roll media Generator. There's no option for a drop shadow like there is for regular text. Anybody know how to do a drop shadow for a credit roll?
It can be done, but it's a little cumbersome. Create a duplicate credit roll and place it on another video track below and in sync with the original one. Offset it just slightly lower and to the right (if that's what you want) and set the text color to the desired shadow color.
Tor's suggestion with the track motion shadow did the trick!
FYI, you can't do this using a duplicate event as Chienworks suggested because you are limited to offsetting the second (shadow) event either right or left, but not up or down. (I had already tried that...)
Boris Graffiti LTD (which ships with Vegas 5) will also do this quite easily. You can get a nice thick 3D look to the text in addition to a shadow. I just used this in a video and the results were quite nice.
Another vote here for Boris. I read lots of complaints about it right after NAB so I was hesitant to use it. I just finished up a project using it and didn't find it hard at all to learn or use.
