I'm having a problem with audio dropouts. Basically what I'm finding is throughout the large video file, there are small dropouts lasting one to three frames where there is no audio (video is fine).
I suspect this is caused by clipping, but I'd like to know for sure. Here's what I'm doing.
1) I recorded a band's sound check/rehearsal with my Sony Digital 8 camcorder.
2) Captured with Video Capture 2.5a via 1394.
3) Edited in VF. I noticed levels "in the red" as I was editing. I think they went up to 0.4. But I figured if that's the way it was recorded, and it was brought in digitally, it must be okay. This is where I think I was wrong. I was careful to make sure that only edited sections were re-rendered by splitting events right before and after modified footage.
4) Printed to Tape.
To you think it was these levels above 0.0 that caused these complete dropouts?
