Hi, just wondering if this is a common problem, sometimes when i import videos into the timeline, the preview displays a RED square in the video in the timeline, sometimes multiple instances in the same clip. Whin i play them back or render the clip, it has a drop-out of the picture in the spot where the RED preview square appears [ie Black/blank screen, no footage displayed in the render or preview.

I use the XVid [latest version] codec with most of my stuff, but recently brought a new camera which output to MPeg2 format, both seem to suffer from thjs dropout syndrome, but its only occasionally. its a real nuisance, any advice on how to prevent this?


and any advice on which video formats are best in Vegas MS 9.0
