Dropped clips and distorted audio

When i capture video and play it back the audio is choppy and there are many dropped clips in the video.... this isn't only in Vegas. It also happens with Adobe Premiere. BUT!!! the audio and video are fine with Windows Movie Maker, but i don't want to use that for capturing. Anyone have an idea of whats wrong?

Well alright but he's implying it's a capture problem and not at all detailed as to how he's capturing listing any interfaces, external devices or formats.

I would prefer he eliminate capture problems before I start typing guesses as to his PC power, HDD setup, soundcard, buffer and latency settings etc.

He says he can't capture in Premiere nor Vegas but can capture in Movie Maker. One would have to assume his audio setup including PC power is not at fault if the audio plays without hiccups capturing with this app. but again that's a guess.

I like to go at things systematically rather than typing volumes of guesses or worse yet incomplete sentences stabbing at it.
