Ok everytime i capture a video from my Sony DV camara it says that there like 161 Dropped frames and it says please visit the web to see how to optimize your capturing. Can anyone help me out with this? I would love to know how to optimize my capturing because when i play it back after being captured the video is very choppy. So please someone please help me find out why this is not working for me. Thank you

Make sure you have no unnessesary processes running in the background and try minimizing the siae of the preview window.

that is some good info since my computer is pretty outdated by isnt there any special drivers i will need or any settings i can tweak? same thing happened on windows movie maker but when i made the capture a higher quality level then it ran thorugh perfectly. is there any way to adjust the quality level of the capturing? I have alot of empty space on my computer so i can handle bigger movie sizes

You should never drop frame. Never. No frame. Ever.

I regularly capture on a 450 MHz Pentium running Win98 and never drop a frame.

Here's a FAQ about dropped frames that I wrote for the VASST site. If you're not a member, you have to sign up (it's free).
