Dropped Frames On Capture

I have been using VF2 for a year or so fine. My hard disc died recently and has been replaced with a new one and since I reinstalled I have been unable to capture withour dropped frames. I have checked the KB and online help and the forums and have tried capturing to a separate HDD (I previously had no problems capturing to my primary drive), I have ensured that DMA is enabled on both discs and still I get dropped frames. I am running a P4 2GHz, 256Mb, WinXP Pro system, capturing via a firewire port. Can anyone suggest anything else??

I had a similar problem when I last added a new HD. I can't remember the details, but the wrong driver had been loaded. You could try getting a copy of Sandra which will allow you to benchmark the drive (and other things) just to see if there's a problem there.
