Dropped Frames on capture?

GrenadaV wrote on 1/27/2006, 10:21 AM
Hi all,
I have been doing some time delay filming and the results are good, but I cannot capture it into Vegas as I get loads of dropped frames...

...I can capture normal video though, I presume the dropped frames are because when the time delay segment starts, when played at normal speed, appears much faster, but how can I get around this to capture into vegas?

I am capturing to different and faster drive than vegas is istalled on, and don't have any problems with normal capture...

Any help appreciated
regards
Rossco

It sounds as though your timedelay footage has some bad flags in it. You might need to consider capturing via analog, if this is the case. How was the timedelay footage managed/acquired? Camera has a time delay? You used an intervalometer?

Hi DSE,
time delay was done by the camera. When I play it back on the camera and or monitor it appears to be OK.'
I am learning how to use the functions my new (and 1st) camera, so I just set it as per the manual (smooth interval record) and set the delay to 10 seconds while the camera whatched my wife doing some painting.
It was clear daylight and I ran it for about 1 hour.
What is a bad flag? and how can I avoid them?

Thanks for replying :)

cheers
