Dropped frames on SATA Raid

cvgh wrote on 6/24/2004, 1:54 PM
Can anyone help? I have an F: drive, SATA and when I try to capture I drop frames by the barrel full. I can capture to my C: drive ok. I have done all the suggestions from the knowledge base. I guess this is a conguration issue but not sure were to look for a solution. Has anyone else had similar problems?
regards, Geoff

I assume that this is the KB article you read:

Troubleshooting dropped frames

Dropping large numbers of frames usually is a DMA issue. Background programs are also high on the list of suspects. Use MSCONFIG (which you can run by clicking on Start, then "Run" and then typing "MSCONFIG") to temporarily disable all startup programs.

Thanks for a quick response. I did as you suggested and disabled everything then tried a capture again but excactly the same thing happens. As I am new to Vegas and indeed to NLE I am wondering if I have not configured Vegas correctly?

Your problem seems RAID-specific. Therefore, someone else that know RAID drives may need to help. I think this may have come up before. Do a search on "RAID capture" and restrict it to the Vegas forum. See if you find something useful there.
