dropped frames on vid capture

I have upgraded from V8 to V9. Vid capture is coming from a sony mini DV cam. On v9 about 7 seconds after capture begins there I am getting massive dropped frames (about 30-50% dropped). Changed camera's, no difference then closed 9, opened up vegas 8 and capture worked without one dropped frame, back to 9 and same issue. Any ideas as to what I need to change on 9 to get capture to work?

As far as I know capturing DV should be exactly the same in V9 and V8. DV is captured by a standalone program, VidCap.exe. I never run this from Vegas and have a VidCap icon on my desktop.

Are you capturing to the same drive?

problem solved. there was a adobe software update for another program that had run in the background. Once I restarted the machine and the update finished, all was well.
