dropped frames with data drive

When I try to capture video from my camera, with video capture, it will play capture a few seconds then freeze, when I try to use a dedicated data hard drive. But when I capture to the main (C:) drive it goes fine... with about 130 dropped frames on an hour of video... anyone have anyideas?

Sounds like your Firewire bus is sharing resources.
