Dropped Frames with New canobus converter

I was wondering if it's common to drop frames if converting from vhs tape if he tape is old. I was using dazzle's hollywood dv bridge for the past year but if you converted from anologue to digital with dazzle sometimes the audio would make a cracking noise if the source tape had a worn spot on it. The AVDC-100 makes the job much smoother but it does drop frames occasionally. Any suggestions? Does the new update to vegas have any changes/ improvements in the capture? I was just curious, no problems but wondering if I should wait or with the video factory update updating my main concept encoder in vegas video do I have the major changes already in the upcoming update. Great job on the forum update!!

I am using the ADVC right now, works great. Zero dropped frames.

The Vegas update will have some capture revisions, yes. Hard to say if it will solve your specific dropped frames issue, since system config plays a large part in successful captures.

Search this forum for "IRQ". There have been many posts about system optimization and tuning.

How long is the tape you are capturing?
