Dropping JPEGS into Vegas

I am doing a montage for an upcomming wedding anniversary for my parents. They have selected over 200 pictures. I want to be able to drop these images in and have them automatically set to 12 seconds each. Dropping in an image sets it to 5 automatically. It will be a pain to change each one manually but I guess if I have to I will. Is there any way to do what I am looking for?

Yes you can set the time and even add a dissolve automatically if you wish.

Options>Preferences>Editing (Tab)>New Still Image Length

Also in the same set up you can set the cross fade time as well if you do not want straight cuts

If you want page turns then just tick for xfades, then highlight all clips on Sb, drop a page turn onto the first transition and all transitions will become page turns

If you want to save even more time, you really should look at getting Excalibur:

Excalibur

It's duration wizard will let you change things after you have alread placed media on your timeline.

Remember that you can highlight all of the pictures from your source and drag them onto the timeline at once. Make sure you drag from the 1st picture to keep the order, or they will lose their proper order on the timeline.
