Here's an article from the Salt Lake Tribune today. Not sure if Spot was involved in the actual dive but some cool records were set here in Utah over the weekend.

Yes, Spot was a very active "winged" participant/organizer and was interviewed by Fox 13 just after the first high altitude jump. They shot some awesome formation footage in a subsequent jump. Beautiful videography in HD. Increasing winds prevented more high altitude attempts. It was an exciting day.

I'm sure it was quite exciting.

I'm going to stick with my policy of not jumping out of perfectly functional airplanes.

Heh, I won't even jump out of my car parked in the driveway.

I was pretty bummed that the wind nailed us. We had 40kt winds at the top coming from 270, so it was almost a direct headwind. We got out at 22.7K. What was really exciting though, was when TRACON informed us later that they'd received a radar return on me moving at approx 150 vertical speed. That's fast for a forward speed, and my altimeter and GPS reported a horizontal speed of approx 48mph, so not my best, but by far not my worst, either.
We'll try again. Farnsworth Peak is the broadcast central spot for the Western US, it's where CBS, NBC, and ABC all have their distribution towers up top. Very cool system.
Surprised anyone noticed the jump, frankly.
