DSR11 Issue Solved (roundabout way)

For all those peeps struggling to get V6 working with the DSR11, I have found a solution but it may not work for all.
I got fed up as the DSR11 is my only DVCAM deck and the client has specified DVCAM. When attempting to PTT to the DSR11, all options are greyed out. In the prefs, it is listed as unavailable under print device. Sony have failed to answer why this is, especially as all is ok in V4 and V5.
So I connected my DHR1000 to another firewire port whilst keeping the DSR11 connected and switched on. Then did PTT expecting the 1000 to fire up (I was going to then do tape to tape to get my DVCAM).
BUT, the crash record option now became available in the options and, on pressing ok, the DSR11 clicked to life and recorded.
Wierd. Now I have both machines connected to allow the DSR11 to work.
Simon.

I'll have to try this. I have a JVC DV deck I can throw into the loop to see if it tricks Vegas into talking to the DSR11.

I just tried it out and was able to ptt from the timeline. I get Manual and Crash as options. I only get these options if I take the deck out of pause by just pressing stop.

I don't think I saw the crash option the first time I tried it though. After that I went into vidcap and did a ptt there, just as a test. It may be that all I had to do was go into vidcap to get vegas to see that it had device control? In any case ptt works from the timeline after that.
