DSS files

Anyone here have any experience with Olympus DSS audio files? Can they be opened in Vegas or can they only be heard via the DSS player?

I have someone who wants to send me some DSS files but I've never fooled with that format.

DSS is a proprietary format. The player should be able to export into an open format.

Yeah, you should be able to export a MP3 file from the olympus DSS file player except that the file will a lot bigger than your tightly compressed DSS file, since MP3 is slightly lossy.
