hi,

i really appreciate this forum and want to thank you all for your help in the past. one thing i am struggling with now is dual camera operations, specifically, in the editing part where i have to combine the two angles together. exactly what is the best or easiest way to edit this kind of project? are there any online tutorials or instructions anywhere that explain in layman's terms how this is done? thanks for any help you can give!

I just line them up on the timeline one above each other so they are in sync. Then pick the better of the 2 audio tracks and delete the other. Then cut away.

I'm not shure about your need, but maybe this could help:

Hi
I am a newbie so don't take my word without checking with the pro's on this board.
What I did was a very simple tween from one camera angle to the next.
First I put them both into 3d space.
Created a negitive mask on track one. (from (00:00:00 - 00:00:10))
Created a positive mask on track two. (from (00:00:08 - 00:00:18))
Next on track one I added transparent solid bg ( (00:00:08 - 00:00:18))
Next I started playing with the tween angles and less than 20 minutes I had a smooth tween. I adjusted the position to fit without much trouble.
Both of my shots where from the same camera so color matching was not an issue. The actor jumping with sword was done perhaps 50 takes and I am sure he hates me to this day.
Please remember I am in no way an expert just one of the newbie's.

Best Wishes,
Marty

There are several ways to go about multi-camera editing in Vegas, but there are two plugins that make this especially easy:

Ultimate S (vasst.com)allows for 2-camera edits and
Excalibur 4 (vegastrainingandtools.com) allows up to 34 cams.

Both have free trial versions.
