So I got this ATI SAPHIRE RADEON 9200 ATLANTIS video card. on the back of it, there is a connection that says "vid out" (no, it's not the DVI out, and it's not the normal monitor connection)....
It looks like this (click there):

Any one have any idea what i can do with that port, and how I can do it - aka what else I gotta buy...ha!
(I got this out of the box from newegg.com, and no documention can be found by me anywhere...i figure somebody here knows of the top of thier head)

Thanks! ha.

That's an s-video jack. Many camcorders accept this type of connection... some VCRs and some TV's too. It's mostly to allow you to direct your computer's video output to a TV. Check the manual that came with the card. It should explain how to use it. You probably need to go to the control panel display settings to activate it, and you may not be able to see anything on your monitor when you have your video card in this "TV" output mode.

You can run your video signal through a VCR or camcorder into a T.V. for a no-budget NTSC monitor.

A friend of mine had an ATI all-in-wonder card with that port on it. What I recall it is, is that you connect an ATI breakout adapter, which has that plug on it with a wire connecting to a small breakout box, and it breaks it into an S-video and Composit Video output.

Looks like you need to use this cable/adapter that should have come with the card for video in/out. Looks like it converts to standard RCA inputs too. That should explain the extra holes in the jack. See this pic:

wow, this is real wierd. It's the same card as mine (or so it looks like it and said it was..haha) - also the hardware looks exactly the same except the card in this review has a lot more connections in the back...ha.

ok well i'll workon finding this thing. thanks guys.

Hmm. I wonder if it uses the same capture dongle as the All-In-Wonder cards but sold separately.

Never mind I just checked and it doesn't match what you posted.

yeah, and I'm having a lot of trouble finding whatever cable should go in there...ha. I'm clueless where else to look now. checked places like newegg.com sapphiretech.com, etc...

Check Here:
http://shop.ati.com/

Look under the accessories links. I see one for ALL-IN-WONDER cards and RADEON cards, which has various cables and connectors for them.

It might be a good idea to download the manual for your card also, at the ATI website if you don't have one available to see exactly what you need and what it's used for.
