Dual rendering progress boxes "suddenly"

Ralf wrote on 8/29/2017, 8:07 PM

Hello all,

I've been working on a project which is taking some iterations for me to get right. I'd left it over the weekend and had also been reading up on the new version (I'm not enthused about the upgrade price for the pro suite unfortunately, as I spent $400ishCAD last November for 14 -- I was hoping closer to $199US) during the last couple of days.

So, having to think long and hard about what I wished to do I decided to postpone the decision and get back to work on my project. Well, I rendered out my latest iteration this afternoon (Aug 29, 2017 - a day after the official release of version 15) of my project....and imagine my surprise when I was greeted by dual render progress boxes!

Hmm, it appears that certain aspects were "time locked" in version 14? Could you please lock the second (or first) back up? I don't believe I need two progress boxes. Thanks so much! :)

Oh, I haven't installed the version 15 trial (I didn't see a particular point as I can't really afford the upgrade asking price)

System specs: W7 x64 / X99 i7 6800K / GTX1080Ti / 64GB RAM / NVME OS drive / 1Tb SSD scratch drive / Sundry media drives

You only need to upgrade to the suite if you want the stuff included. If you just want a newer Vegas & no extras because you're happy with the ones you have, upgrade to "Edit" and you'll keep all your old extras & use then in Vegas 15.

Well, new is new right? There are "newer" things included in the new suite. I am just not happy with the asked for price of the new suite. Thanks for your input. At any rate that's a digression of the point of my post...the two progress boxes.

Isn't that the progress dialog from the SemW extensions? Have you installed those extensions recently? I don't use it, so it is just a guess.

Jeez. Yes. You're absolutely correct. During the reading, the extensions were mentioned and I installed them...and promptly forgot. Is there a dialog somewhere to turn off the original progress box? (Not asking you specifically Robert W, but thanks for your reply.)

Thanks, set. I apologize to all for adding noise instead of signal. 🐿 <- special assistant, lol, eating nuts instead of doing his job. 😃

The "render progress" feature of SeMW extensions gives additional information about the render process and also it lets you pause render and if your render process interrupts it let you keep the partially rendered file (both is not possible without that SeMW feature).

The unneeded one upsets my aesthetics...sadly. 😃

I noted that, thanks Marco. It would be nice to have...if I could turn off the original one. If I can't, then as above, it's a wrongness in the universe and cannot be tolerated. Ah, or something like that, lol. 🖖
