Dual-screen on V5

Hi guys (and gals ;) )

Those of you who have managed to get over the UI change without requiring extensive medical treatment, how do you have configured your dual-screen setups?

I myself have had problems with V4 to utilize my dual-screens effectively: my second screen has always been like afterthought w/o any real help on the process.

But now with the dockable windows I've managed to change my workflow totally. To clarify my situation: I just make videos for myself, so this is not a "professional" setup.

My setup is: dual-screens (19" 1400x1050 + 17" 1280 x 1024) and because of space constraints those displays sit on top of each other 19" being the lower one and the main display.

Now with V5 I've moved all dockable windows to the second display as one docked window except the media tray which sits on top of that alone (i.e. the display has been split horizontally in two areas).

The main window is also divided horizontally in two parts: tracks and "the lower part". The lower part is divided vertically to three areas: left part contains audio level meters for 5.1 sound, middle area has again two docked windows: surround panner and video scopes (those are normally not needed simultaneously) and the rightmost area contains preview window.

This setup is something that I've found to make me "more productive", if that's possible...

Hope this makes any sense. I would like to hear your approaches.

Monitor 1: (19" on the right): Timeline, with Edit Details and Trimmer in docking area (maximized)

Monitor 2: (17" on the left): Video Preview in upper right-hand corner at 1/2 size (I usually preview to external monitor); Audio Mixer, with preview bus, immediately below Video Preview; Media Pool, Transitions, FX & Media Generators docked together in a floating window in upper left-hand corner; Vegas Explorer window in lower left-hand corner.

Had to read the online help first.

You can set up layout presets
--Hit ctrl+alt+d then keyboard number to save the layout.
--Hit alt+d then num to recall it

I've set up 4 layouts-big preview or little preview with and without transitions and mixer docked together on the second monitor.

i guess its not possible to do what i do with your monitors mounted one ontop the other but i have the main Vegas window pulled all the way over the 2 monitors( two 20" LCD) that way the timelines pretty long, then i have the preview on the lower right, to the lleft the mixer, to the left of that the presets, then the media generator. The the whole lower half of the second monitor(left one) is the media pool.
seams to work ok for me:>)
