Dumba** questions I thought I had resolved

I thought I had the answers to these, but recent postings have once again confused me:

1) If I capture V1U and HV20 24p widescreen footage into Cineform intermediates, would I render from Vegas as 1920 x 1080 OR 1440 x 1080?

2) Some people are saying that I should be rendering out as 1440 x 1080 with a square pixel setting (1.3333). Would it make a difference if I was rendering to Blu-Ray, a computer file, or down-rezzed to SD?

3) When would you use the RGB fx or Studio fx setting? Would it make a difference if you were rendering for a computer file vs Blu-Ray or DVD? I'm producing my first TV commercial; would I have to use this fx to ensure I'm using "legal" color settings?

You'll render using the 1440 x 1080 template (labeled as HDV).

1.333 is a non-square pixel setting. You've got the right pixel aspect, just the incorrect name for it. 1.0 is a square PAR. 1.333 is the correct PAR for HDV, .909 is the correct PAR for NTSC DV.

If you're going to broadcast over commercial, you're not using DVD or BD, are you? Either way, you'll output with safe levels either via the B'cast filter, or better, simply finding illegal spots and correcting them in the Studio RGB space vs computer.
If you use the B'cast filter set to lenient, it's a quick fix, and should satisfy most any broadcast house that isn't PBS.
