Dv but not HDV?

I just uodated to version 8.0d, and am trying to capture HD video from my Sony HC7 camera, using the Firewire link. I can capture in DV quality, but when I choose HDV, the blue preview screen says "Device Not Available". Right clicking it and selecting "Device", it has a checkmark beside the IEEE 1394/MPEG2 TS Device.
I'm running a Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz proc.

Any ideas/suggestions? Do I need to upgrade to a 3.0 GHz proc.?

Make sure you have setup your date/time in the camera when you recorded. Sometimes vegas won't load HDV if the footage was not time marked by the camera. Also look at ways to reset your camera, some of them have a way to reset the hardware to defaults (instead of just doing it via the camera's software).

Also remember that while you use VidCap (the external capture program) for capturing DV, Vegas has it's own HD capture program built in. VidCap can't capture HD/HDV.

OK, I got it to work by turning the HDV to DV on and off. I still wonder about getting a 3.0 proc instead of the 1.8 I'm using. I'm capturing 30 minutes of video, so I'll see what happens.
