i remember a few years ago seeing a dv (dvcam?) computer drive. i think it connected internally to a standard firewire card?

anyone know if this is still available, and any more details available?

I've seen it also, made by Sony but I think was rather expensive, should have been cheap as it wouldn't need as much of a housing or power supply. I suspect it's no longer made or maybe it was only for NSTC which is why it's not on our radar down here.

My fave is the Nnovia. PAL or NTSC. http://www.nnovia.com
Firestore also makes one. Laird's is made by Nnovia for them. Same with the ProMax unit.

nice hd drives, but i was after a simple tape deck like the dvr1000 (i think that was it's no.).
have dsr80, but there's no firewire (yes component, sdi, qsdi, et al), and since i produce a lot of long form work, i'm thinking it's time i got it into the pc as simply as possible, and as cheaply (ie. using full size cassettes...) dsr 30?

thanks anyway,
