I have a KT7A-RAID motherboard with a 1Gz Athilon, 512Mb memory and ADS Pyro Firewire card. I'm running Win2k SP2.
Capture works fine, but print-to-tape or preview hangs the whole machine after 2-3 second.
This is a timing issue with the KT7 family of motherboards and other PCI cards that share IRQs. The solution is to change the BIOS setting as follows:
The bios settings are:
softmenu -
fast cpu command decode - normal
cpu drive strength - 2
enhance chip performance - enabled
force 4-way interleave - enabled
enable dram 4k page mode - enabled
dram clock - hclk+pciclk (or hclk depending on BIOS version)
advanced bios features -
os select for dram >64megs - non-os2
video bios shadow - enabled
c8000-cbfff shadow - disabled
advanced chipset features -
dram timing - sdram 8/10ns (for 0 through 5)
dram bank interleave - 4way
delay dram read latch - auto
MD driving strength - Lo
sdram cycle length - 3
memory hole - disable
pci master pipeline req - enabled
p2c/c2p concurrency - disabled
fast r-w turn around - disabled
system bios cacehable - disabled
video ram cacheable - disabled
agp aperture - 64megs
agp x4 mode - enabled
agp driving control - auto
fast write supported - supported
k7 clk_ctl select - default (if you have this in your BIOS)
