DV Rendering

I know that with some editing software, rendering DV source files into a DV avi file is VERY FAST - I guess it is just copy'n-pasting the frames instead of actually rendering them. However, with Movie Studio the rendering is VERY SLOW. Is this because the DV files were captured using some other software and there is a subtle change that Movie Studio is making, or is Movie Studio going to re-render all of my DV? This is not just a performance issue - there is also a loss of quality when you re-render frames.

Thanks

If you are using AVI files created with the DV codec, Movie Studio will not re-render them unless you add an effect that must be applied to each frame thus forcing a re-render. (i.e., pan/crop, color balance, etc.) If you are using some other codec in your AVI file (e.g., Motion JPEG, DivX, etc.) Movie Studio will have to re-render them to the DV codec.

I capture directly into MovieStudio from my DV camera, and as JohnnyRoy notes, there is no re-rendering of part where no effects have been added.
