DV video + 16-bit WAV audio Sync issues

I have video that I want to sync with better audio recorded at the same time with a great mic. I've put the video on the time-line, removed it's audio and thrown up the 16-bit audio. There are clearly some sync issues as I can get it sync'd up at the top but lose sync as the clip plays on.

Any tips?

Template: NTSC DV (720x480, 29.970 fps) AVI file
Audio: 44.1 16-bit WAV file

Dont know if this is the issue, but the video audio was probably 48k, while your new audio is 44.1.

Try changing your project properties to 44.1 audio.

Record your audio at 48K while syncing to DV.
