DVC PRO HD not working?

JHendrix wrote on 8/21/2009, 4:52 PM
I use P2 and have Raylight. But some footage was sent to me that is

DVC PRO HD 720p 60

They are all .mov files

I drag it into Vegas and only get the 4 audio tracks.

The same files import and play in a default Premiere intstall on a PC with no problem

You'll have to use Raylight. Your BEST option, IMO, is to convert them to .mxf files in Premiere.
Panasonic refuses to license their DVCPro HD decoder to Sony

so i have to select file in Premiere timeline (or bin?) and choose export and select mxf?

and certain export settings?

Then it will play in VV using raylight?

I think once you export it as MXF Vegas will open it natively.
I'm assuming Spot meant as mpeg-2 (XDCAM EX) in a MXF wrapper. If all else fails you could export out of Ppro as uncompressed if you can tolerate the file size.

The Raylight software you have will work with native DVCPRO-HD files, but you need the other DVFilm product, Raylight Decoder, to work with DVCPRO-HD files created on a Mac.
