I was asked about a problem with working with DVCPro files. Seems not to work properly in Vegas (4 and 5).
I was send an AVI file coming from a Panasonic AJ-SD955. It's PAL DVCPro 25. This file plays fine in WindowsMediaPlayer and several other editings softwares. I have a DVCPro codec installed on my system (Matrox). I can even import this file into Vegas and Vegas says it uses my Matrox codec to decode the file. But the video is completely mixed up then. All the blocks are mixed up and the picture looks like a false done puzzle.
Is this something we should have expected? - Does Vegas usually not work with DVCPro files?
If I render a PAL DV file to DVCPro in Vegas - then this DVCPro file works fine in Vegas.
